CTCRI successfully organized a seminar in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, under a project funded by the Coconut Development Board (CDB). This event was supported by ICAR-CPCRI, KVK Tiruppur, TNAU, the Department of Agriculture, Tamil Nadu, the Department of Horticulture, Tamil Nadu, Global Coconut Farmers Producer Company, and M/s Linga Chemicals. Our Director of CTCRI, who served as the Chief Guest, distributed coconut seedlings and tuber crop technologies, and also honored farmers for their contributions. The inaugural session featured prominent figures like Dr. H. Hameed Khan, former PC, AICRP on Palms; E. Aravazhi, Director, CDB, Regional Office, Chennai; V. Krishnaveni, Joint Director of Agriculture, Tirupur; Poosa Lakshmi, DDA, Tirupur; S. Sasikala, DDH, Tirupur; K. Bala Subramanian, MD, Global Coconut Farmers Producer Company; Ibrahim, Manager, Linga Chemicals; G. Ragothuman, Assistant Director, CDB, Udumalpet; and Dr. D. Jaganathan. Expert sessions were led by Dr. P. Subramanian, Head, CPCRI, Kasaragod; Dr. M.R. Manikantan, Principal Scientist, CPCRI, Kasaragod; Dr. P.A. Saravanan, Head, KVK, Tirupur; G. Ragothuman, Assistant Director, CDB; and Dr. D. Jaganathan, who covered various essential topics. The event also featured an exhibition with participation from CTCRI, CPCRI, CDB, KVK, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Horticulture, Linga Chemicals, and Global Coconut FPC. With around 300 farmers and other stakeholders in attendance, the seminar was a great success.
