ICAR-CTCRI organized a training and distribution program for the Kani tribes of Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Agasthyamala, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, focusing on planting materials, technological products, and farm implements to support their agricultural practices.

The event witnessed the participation of M. Ilango, Deputy Director of Horticulture, Tirunelveli; N. Mahesh, Forest Range Officer; and Pandyammal, Assistant Director of Horticulture, Pappakudi, alongside Dr. G. Byju, Director; Dr. R. Muthuraj; and Dr. D. Jaganathan from ICAR-CTCRI

The team also visited the Kani tribal settlements within the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve, where tuber crops serve as their primary food and livelihood source.
