OVERVIEW
The Research Priority Setting, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) Cell of CTCRI, introduced through NATP in 1999 and NAIP in 2006, is a crucial component in the 12th Plan. This management tool validates program existence and adjusts the research agenda for enhanced effectiveness, particularly in public agricultural research systems. It incorporates perspectives from clients, policymakers, researchers, and donors to address societal goals. The PME Cell at ICAR-CTCRI has been operational since April 2012.
ACTIVITIES OF CELL
- Coordinate and synthesize recommendations of QRT, RAC, IRC, Vision documents of Institute and ICAR to recommend research priorities at the Institute level.
- Send Information for DARE Report, ICAR Reporter, ICAR News, and other technical information required by ICAR.
- Quarterly report based on targets and achievements. Annual updating and presenting the report to the Director of the Institute.
- Maintenance of Scientific/technical files including Research Project files, Consultancy/ NAIP Project files, and QRT, RAC, and IRC documents.
- Monitoring progress for externally funded projects and coordinating annual monitoring and evaluation of projects.
- Regularly sensitizing and capacity building of research managers and scientists through training programmes.
- Development and Updation of database for Projects, Publications.
- Preparation of Scientific documents and Monthly Meeting of Scientists.
- Organising presentations on important aspects such as RFD, PME, etc.
