Breaking dormancy in Amorphophallus

Normally Amorphophallus has a dormancy period of 4-5 months. It can be reduced to 1.5 to 2 months by incubating the corms at 40 0 c for 6-9 hours per day for 6 weeks. At platforms of 1 metre height, keep the corms upside down after scooping out the top bud. Coconut husk or firewood can be used to produce the desired heat.

Exogenous application of thiourea(100 ppm), ethrel (1000ppm) and GA3(25ppm).
